FAQ

  • How much does a session with you cost?

The short answer- it depends! My out-of-pocket cost is 120.00 per intake. Subsequent sessions cost 115.00 per hour and 60.00 per half-hour session.

If you have insurance you may need to meet your out of network (oon) deductible or you may have an oon co-pay. Insurance is complicated, the best way to know for sure is to contact your insurance provider. I can provide you with specific CPT codes.

  • What insurance do you accept?

    Currently, I accept Aetna.

I am considered out-of-network (oon) with BCBS. If you have met your oon-deductible, Thrizer and Mentaya are helpful options, as they can submit your oon claims for faster, hassle-free reimbursement (and in some cases, help with upfront costs).

I will update this section as I enroll and contract with further insurance providers.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept debit or credit for out-of-pocket payments and insurance balances.

  • I'm a parent/caregiver and I'd like my child to work with you. What do I share with you and what do you share with me?

Great question! The answer is more complex than I can cover entirely here. But, the short answer is, if your child is a minor you can share whatever you would like with me; I will share what’s pertinent to their safety and general information about your child’s progress. However, if your child is an adult (18+), you are not legally entitled to any of their health information, even if you pay for their sessions unless they authorize a release of their information.

  • I'm between the ages of 14 and 17. What information will you share with my parents/caregiver?

Another great question with another complex answer! We will discuss this more in-depth at the first appointment, where you will have the opportunity to decide if you’d like to continue therapy with me. But the short answer is: most things you share with me will be kept between us. There are certain situations that I am legally obligated to break confidentiality, like if you have a real plan to hurt yourself or someone else. Or, if someone is hurting you.

  • What is your cancelation/reschedule policy and fees?

Late cancelations and reschedules are those that are made within 24 hours of a scheduled session- no exceptions.

Because “life happens,” I use ‘ramp up’ fees for late cancels, no shows, and reschedules. A first late charge is 33% of the session fee. A second late charge is 66% of the session fee. A third late charge is 100% of the session fee.

Insurance does not cover late fees.

  • Do you offer in-person sessions?

Not at the moment. Hopefully, that will change in the future, though I assure you, my virtual sessions are just as comfortable as my in-person sessions!

In the meantime, as long as you live anywhere in North Carolina, I can offer remote sessions.

  • What are your office hours?

My office hours vary from time to time, but generally I work between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm, Monday- Friday. I offer limited after-school and weekend hours.
